Summer roadworks restrictions - what to expect
As we move into summer, local Highway Authorities around our region will start introducing seasonal restrictions on roadworks in certain areas. These measures are typically in place from the end of May through to the end of September and are designed to minimise disruption during the busier tourist season.
How this may affect your project
If your work needs a road closure or any kind of traffic management (e.g. traffic lights or lane closure) so the work can be done safely, you’ll always need approval from the local Highways Authority. During the summer embargo period, there’s a chance that these won’t be approved until after the restrictions are lifted - usually around October.
What we’re doing
We’ll continue to submit any permits that are required and work closely with your local Highways Authority to secure the earliest possible date for your work.
We’ll keep you informed of any changes to your scheduled dates as soon as they’re confirmed.
We’ll make every effort to complete your work at the earliest available opportunity.
Any questions?
We know delays are frustrating and we really appreciate your patience during this embargo period. If you’ve got any questions about your work, please get in touch with our team.
