Anglian Water's Urban Regeneration Programme will invest £160million into Surface Water Management schemes across the two coastal catchments.
Our aim is to deliver combined sewer overflow (CSO) spill and sewer flood reduction through nature-based, urban regeneration across the two A-WINEP target locations of Southend-on-sea and Great Yarmouth.
Our focus will be the use of retrofit Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) to hold back surface water. To reduce spills from storm overflows to improve bathing water quality. We'll also look to reduce the risk of sewer flooding to homes and businesses. Through deployment of nature-based solutions, we want to deliver benefit to all of our customers in these two catchments. By enhancing tourism and biodiversity and delivering the health and wellbeing benefits of green infrastructure and clean bathing waters.
Through our programme we'll work with the local community and partners. Along with councils, schools, social housing providers and businesses. To facilitate this partnership approach, we'll seek match funding opportunities and work to ensure the local councils have the capability and support to help deliver this ambitious programme of work.
