Your water bill covers much more than just the cost of cleaning the water you use and the wastewater we take away. It goes towards protecting and enhancing the environment, as well as making sure there is enough water for everyone, both today, tomorrow and far into the future.
On average, households pay £1.72 per day for all water and wastewater services. So what's the story behind your bill?
We want to make sure you know what you’re paying for. We’ve recently heard from some of our customers and we want to explain why the breakdown of our average household bill doesn’t show a profit amount. This is because our ultimate shareholders won’t be taking a dividend this year. Instead, they’ve decided to put that money – about 10% of the average household bill – back into the business. They agree that we should use this to help make big improvements, like making sure we always have enough water, taking care of nature, and helping the communities we serve.
Explore our journey so far, the projects your bills have helped us support, as well as our commitments to a more sustainable future.
